The Global Challenge in Montreal is just hours away, even before the official start whistle blows two teams drop out.
Montreal is two team less due to CheckSix and team j1n dropping out just hours before the official start. ESL was already aware of team j1n not attending yesterday, but was informed that CheckSix would not be showing up, just hours away. The reason for team j1n not attending is that two players left the team, without informing the rest of the team, which made them unable to attend. What goes for CheckSix, they simply could not afford the flights to Montreal. It is unfortunate that teams drop out this late, and it put the tournament direction in a difficult position.
As what goes for the tournament, no teams will be pulled in to replace them, it is simply impossible on such short notice. This leave group A and D with only two teams in each, two teams will advance from each group and therefore only one match is played in these groups, a match to decide playoff seeding.
Global Challenge in Montreal will start at midnight with two matches opening the event.
